Joseph Calhoun Mathews, son of Isaac Mathews and Anne Calhoun, married Margaret Brough, dau of Thomas and Nancy Brough. I have a question for any one who descends from this line that may have the answer. In Joseph's 1854 will he leaves his land to first his wife, then his unmarried daughters. His wife Margaret died in 1860. Any idea who ended up with the land after Margaret's death? Eleanor Caroline, Nancy Ann, and Martha Laura were all married and in Wedowee, AL, and Jane Adiline was married in TX. Rachel Calhoun, Margaret, and Elizabeth were all married in or around Abbeville. To the best of my knowledge that would leave Amanda, Lucretia, and possibly Mary Louisa single. Anyone know who held title to his estate after 1860?
