On my property in Charlestown, IN there is an old cemetery with Mathes and Reynolds names. The names I know are buried there are:
MATHES Sir Sidney b. 1809 d. 05/1836 (age 27 yrs.,11 mo., 2 days)
MATHES Milton J.-b. 1825 d. 06/06/1853(age 27 years,2 mos., 1 day)
MATHES William L.-b. 1821 d. 1834
MATHES William M.-b. 04/05/1852 d. 04/12/1870 (son of M. & M.)
MATHES Charles H.-b. 01/06/1823 d. 04/03/1855
MATHES??? (Possibly Margaret E., daughter of David & J.) b. ???? d. ????
MATHES??? J. H. M. (no other info)
MATHES Susan (age 23 yrs.,?? mos., 21 days)b. 01/25/???? d. ??/09/1837
REYNOLDS Bowen (age 63 yrs.)b. ????d. 10/14/1848
REYNOLDS???R. R. (no other other info)
REYNOLDS Sarah (wife of
REYNOLDS Bowen, age 55 years)b. ????d. 08/01/1841
The names were transcribed a few years ago by a local historian. The tombstones are now mostly broken and very difficult to read. There may be between 11-16 family members buried there. Please contact me if you think you may have a connection to this family. vlawrencegilbert@humana.com
