Hi Sharon,
My mother-in-law was a Mathes, she is a descendant of John Mathes who was a brother to Magdalena (Lena). I have been trying for years to get all the Mathes info into a usable format. I would be happy to exchange any information that I have with you. I don't have any way to contact Ada either.
