I am seeking information on my ancestor William Mathers. He is estimated to have been born around 1775 in North Carolina, married a woman named Rebecca and moved to Crawford County, IN in 1812.

I have a source that mentions a 1810 census for North Carolina that is supposed to be him (the number of, ages and gender of children match to his childrens marriage records years later) but states Greenville. I can only find a Wm Mathers in Greenville, SC for 1790 and 1810.

His children were Mary (m Stephen Easley), John (m Mary Kinkaid), William B (m Patsy Inman), Thomas (m Malinda Crawford), and James (m Mary Key).

I have the information on the children and their families but nothing on William and Rebecca's families. If anyone can help please contact me! Thank you.
