Clyde was born George Clyde E. Matherly in Appanoose County, Iowa in 1888 to Lucinda Jane Lewis & George Matherly. Clyde died in Grinnel Iowa in 1970.
Clyde had siblings named: Leolester Matherly, Gertrude Matherly, Charles Matherly, Minnie Matherly, Matilda Matherly, & Freddie Matherly... born in that order.
George Matherly died around Febuary 1900 at Kirksville, Adair County, Iowa. George grew up in the Soap Creek, Unionville Iowa area & served in the Civil War. George was also married to Mahala Rankins, Susan Teater, & Minervia Cross. George was the son of Shelby Matherly & Patsy Abney & was born in 1843 in Kentucky. He had two sister that we know of, Armilda Lowe & Mrs L.W. Waters ( who lived in Ottumwa Iowa in the early 1900's). Let me know if there is more you would like to know, my son has been doing alot of research lately....
