My ggggrandfather was Ansel Matheny. I have tried for years to prove who his father is. I believe that he is the half brother to Abner. I think that James is their father and that Nancy is Ansel's mother and Elizabeth is Abner's mother. I think you are right about Elizabeth and Nancy being kin in some way. In the 1850 census of Christian County, Kentucky, Nancy is living with her daughter Sarah Kenner, who I think is a sister to Ansel and I believe he also had brothers Eli,Thomas and Green. I'm pretty sure that your Eli is James and Nancy's son,because they were all living in the same vicinity in Christian County. Abner was in Trigg County. I hope I haven't confused you.
