Ms. Matheny,
I am researching Daniel Mathaney (b. circa 1821) who married Louisa Mathaney. They lived in Baltimore, Maryland in 1860 and 1880.
Their children were Virginia, James (or Jamas), Laura, Daniel, Louiza, William and Rosetta. I am a descendant of their son James (or Jamas) (b. 1847) who married Mary.
The 1880 census indicates that Daniel Mathaney was born in Virginia, as were his parents. I noticed the name Mathaney may have been spelled differently during different times in American history. Any help or direction you can provide would be most appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.
