This may be a different branch of the Masur family, but there may be some connection. The Masur family that I am related to came to Texas, probably from an area near Poland in about 1870-1872. They landed at either Indianola, Texas or Galveston, Texas and moved to Lockhart, Texas arriving in 1872. My great grandfather was Joseph Masur and his wife was Josephine Hannig Masur. They had four children: Otilia, Soseph, Ed, and Henry (my grandfather). Some family history of the Masurs is available but there are some conflicting reports as to their place of origin in Germany and in the port where they landed. Any information will be appreciated.
