In desperate need of help in locating the parents of: JAMES ROBERT MASTERS. b. Oct. 12, 1854 in GA d. March 1922 in Walker Co. GA. married MARY ELIZABETH MARSHALL b. Nov. 9, 1869 GA(daughter of Fred W. & Matty Franklin Marshall) All the above are buried at Coulter Cemetary, Cassandra, Walker Co. GA.
The children of James Robert & Mary Elizabeth are:
Willie Newton Masters 1887
Minerva "Minnie" Masters 1892
Leonard Masters 1895
Robert Masters 1897
Wesley Masters 1900
Mattie Lou Masters 1902
Ellis Masters 1904
Jessie Gus Masters 1906
Ann Masters 1909
Effie Masters 1912
Fred William Masters 1915 (my grandfather)
The story the family has been told about JAMES ROBERT MASTERS is that his parents died when he (and an older brother,don't know the brothers name) was a small boy. Some say that the two were raised by a man? in Dalton, Whitfield co. GA. We believe there is a connection with the MASTERS in Whitfield co. GA as the daugter "Minnie" Masters visited with this family in the 1970's and said they were related. There is also a simularity of looks.
I noticed that the names of JAMES ROBERT & MARY ELIZABETH'S children (Newton, Minerva, Robert, Gus,Effie)
matched names with the family from Overton TN.
Any help in locating JAMES ROBERT'S parents would be very much appreciated.
