MASSEY family of MADISON COUNTY, NC - specifically BIG PINE and BARNARD
Looking for information on the MASSEY family of Big Pine Creek, Little Pine Creek, Barnard, and Walnut area of Madison County, North Carolina.
Specifically, try to find the parents of MARY MASSEY and any other information regarding her ancestral line, and of course, any information that pertains to any of her children, including who may have fathered the children.
MARY MASSEY (born about 1850 in Madison County) - According to what I've found, she was either never married or was a widow.She had the following children (there may be others):
1.) WILLIAM MASSEY (born about 1866 in Madison County) - found in 1880 census: 9th township - Madison County - Pine Creek.
2.) DAVID MASSEY (born Jan 1868 in Madison County - died 1945 Madison County) - I have most of the information about him except before 1880.
3.) HENRY MASSEY (may be named John in 1880 census - the 1930 census lists him as Henry "J" Massey - we have also been told by his daughter, Margaret, that his middle initial was "T" but he would never say what it stood for.) (born 01 Nov 1872 in Madison County - Died 04 Oct 1965 Hooper's Creek, Henderson County) - This is my wife's maternal great-grandfather.He left Madison County at 14 years old and never went back.I have most of the information about him except before 1880.
4.) EMELINE "EM" MASSEY (born Feb 1875 in Madison County - Died 04 Dec 1954 Asheville, Buncombe County) - According to some records and family information, Emeline never married...trying to find who may have fathered her children.I have most of the information about him except before 1880.
