Nope, I don't have any further information. Harriet should have a death certificate since she was alive at least until the 1920 census, but I could never find it.
Marriage records are impossible for this area. I've rarely found any at all for anyone. I don't think they kept all of them on file at the county level. I guess the records were probably kept by those doing the marrying, and they never got transcribed anywhere. I'll give you an example, here in Texas where my mother-in-law is from, the Sheriff had the authority to marry, and he kept the record book. If it were a similar thing, that say a Justice of the Peace kept the book, it may never have been entered into the public record. Or maybe they relied on church records, and those are usually kept by the church in question and not filed with the civil authorities.
And one more thing that is applicable after the advent of automobiles (not in George and Harriet's case obviously), but in case you are looking at later times, North Carolina had a three day waiting period for marriage and South Carolina did not. A lot of people in the 20th century went to SC to get married.
