I can't get the dates to work out. I can follow the family line that you have suggested, but from what I have found so far is that this "Hugh" was born circa 1516 and would have been far too old to have fought in the 1641 Ulster Rebellion.

Nicholas, the son of Hugh de Coddington Massey, was born circa 1443. Thomas, the son of Nicholas, was born circa 1478. Hugh, the son of Thomas, was born circa 1516.

I'm at a loss at this point.

My guess is that General Hugh Massey would have had to be born in the late 1500's or early 1600's.
