WILLIAM PORTER MASSEY: family rel'n?!
Hi!
I would appreciate any help in seeking out information and contacting my living relatives of my father, WILLIAM PORTER MASSEY (born 10 June 1913 in Texas or Oklahoma; died 22? October 1970 in Los Angeles. California). His Social Security number was #455-01-0598
He was in California around the mid 1950's-- and was an electrician by trade. He had, from my best estimate, 3 children who were adults and one 10 year old son in 1957 (this son was from his third marriage).I would have been at the time of my birth (Christmas day of 1957) his youngest son.My mother was Vlasta Garcia (Aka: Kovarik). I was placed into adoption through the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services; I was known as 'Baby Boy Massey'.
He was buried in Magnolia District Cemetery, Garden Grove, California.Curiously enough, only one person signed the guest book as attending the service; the cemetery guide indicated he was buried alongside a plot with a young boy of a different name, I'm told.
I'm interested in learning more about my Massey family history and lineage, and any information concerning my father.
I'm ESPECIALLY interested in communicating with any of my long-lost (and disappearing) family members/relatives.As time moves on this has become increasingly important.I know little about my 'real' family or my siblings-- and I wish I did. This is an empty void I would like to fill.
I have (half) brothers and sisters out there-- somewhere-- as well as cousins and relatives, whom I would really enjoy speaking to. This is very important to me and I would look forward to any family members wishing contact or saying 'hello' for the first time.
Any help or nformation you can offer is greatly appreciated.Thank you for your kind consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Steve D'Agati
