I've traced my father's line back to David Messier in France. It seems that there are so many spellings of his last name, that they are very hard to trace. I have found ancestors under the spellings of Messier, Macia, Massey, Macys, Masse, Mercier, Messer.
I have been researching these lines about 5 years. I just found my great-grandfather's baby sister and her family yesterday.
Are we related???
