Richard G. Mason of Libertyville Services for Richard G. Mason, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at United Methodist Church, 429 Brainerd Ave., Libertyville. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the church. Born April 30, 1934, in Libertyville, he passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the Wealshire Healthcare Center in Lincolnshire. Richard was a 1952 graduate of Libertyville High School and also Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. He was a corporate trust officer for Harris Trust and Savings Bank in Chicago, retiring after 37 years. He was also an Army veteran and an active member of the United Methodist Church in Libertyville, where he had been the church treasurer for over 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Mason; three children, Mark (Janet) Mason of Libertyville, Linda (Rev. Craig) Duke of Princeton, Ind. and Tim (Kelli) Mason of Iowa City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Erica, Alex, Ben and Noah Mason and Tiffany Duke; and one brother, David (Judi) Mason of Stevens Points Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, longtime Libertyville residents, Harold and Eleanor Mason. Memorial contributions can be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or United Methodist Church, in his memory. Arrangements were made by Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville, 847-362-3009.
