He was born 14 February 1841, the son of Richard Mason (policeman) and Elizabeth (Cooper) Mason. George was baptized in Avon Dassett, Warwickshire (near Banbury, Oxfordshire) apparently his parents’ home area. So far I have found no further trace of George in England. I think he is the brother of one of my ancestors and hope someone will recognize his distinctive name and tell me more about him.
