Maslens of London/Tottenham England (with possible link to Wales)

I am early in the stages of tracing my Maslen ancestry back from Canada to England. My great-grandfather, Alfred Henry Maslen, immigrated to Canada about 1905, with his wife and two sons. His father was George Maslen, his mother, Annie (I think her last name was Tarrent). He had several siblings....George F., Annie F., Fredrick and Ada. They are listed on the 1871 cencus living in Tottenham. My father remembers, as a 17-year-old wireless gunner with the Canadian Airforce, visiting his Aunt Ada in a very poor run-down area of London in about 1942. My grandfather, Alfred, was also born in Tottenham as was his brother, William Tarrent. My father thinks that somehow, there was a wales connection, possily a pub owner. Thats about as much as I know thus far......

Any help/info?????
