I am currently investigating the Maskell family in Sussex, predominantly the Heathfield and Waldron area.
John MASKELL (b 1811) m Mary Ann ?? (b 1815)
They had 3 children
Peter MASKELL (b 1838), Moses MASKELL (b 1840) and Lucy MASKELL (b 1842)
All the above were born in Heathfield, East Sussex.
Peter married Elizabeth ?? (b 1834 in Goudhurst, Kent)
They had at least 3 children
Alfred MASKELL (b 1867, Goudhurst), Solomon MASKELL (b 1869, Heathfield) and Aaron MASKELL (b 1870, Heathfield)
Moses married an unknown woman (as she was dead before the 1881 census)
They had at least 6 children (the first 4 being born in Heathfield and the last 2 in Waldron, East Sussex)
Mary (b 1863), Moses (b 1865), Mercy (b 1868), Selina (b 1872), John (b 1874) and Emma (b 1877)
The line I am particularly after is Aaron who married Sarah Croft (b 1873 near Ticehurst) in the Hailsham district in 1903.
It appears that there is some confusion as to how many children they had and if he might have died and she remarried a GORRINGE....
