Your Matilda Mashburn seems to fit nicely with my records for the children of William Mashburn (1780 NC) and wife Mary Jane (1780). Calculating from the birth year of their 1st child, William and Mary Jane married about 1795, likely around Burke Co., NC.
Their children were born 1798-1813, all in Burke Co., NC except youngest, who was born in TN. The children of William & Mary Jane were: John A., Jerry, Lucinda, David, Matthew, William Bill, Joshua Levi, and Mary Elizabeth.
I have record of Matilda Mashburn (1827 TN, Monroe Co.) was the daughter of David Mashburn (above) and wife Sarah Brown. The Jerry & Matthew mentioned in your post would be Matilda's uncles, IF they are of the family I've noted.
William Mashburn (1780 NC) is found in the following censuses:1790- Hertford Co., NC
1800- Burke Co., NC
1810- Burke Co., NC
1830- Burke Co., NC
(I have not yet located them in the 1820 census, but suspect they were in Burke Co., NC.)
William Mashburn & Mary Jane are both buried in Roy Cemetery, in Monroe Co., TN.
David Mashburn (1801 NC) and wife Sarah Brown are found in the following censuses: 1850- Monroe Co., TN
1870- Madison Co., AR
Matilda is NOT listed on the 1850 or later censuses.
David Mashburn & Sarah are both buried in Upper Campground Cemetery in Madison Co., AR.
Hope this helps you identify-- or at least get closer to-- your Matilda Mashburn.
