Hi Greg!

It is interesting that Reid was from Madison, GA.

Rev. John Harvey Mashburn Jr (named for his uncle- my direct ancestor- who was also a Methodist minister)was stationed at Madison for a good many years in the early 1900's.

He was very popular in Madison and it is possible that he is in your collection. I mention this in case you have him and can't figure out where he belongs in your Mashburn family.

Rbefore being stationed at Madison, Rev. Mashburn made the New Yorks papers for carry a gun. It appears that him and the Baptist preacher at Cartersville had a run-in and before it was over the town was bitterly divided between the two churches.

My director ancestor Rev. John Harvey Mashburn Sr. and his two brothers and their father moved to Forsyth County GA from North Carolina after the Indian Removal.
