I am just beginning to search for my ancestors. So far I got the information that my great-great-grandfather Theodorus Marx was baptized on Sept 29,1837 in Eisenach. I think it must be Eisenach near Trier, since most of German immigrants in Brazil came from Hunsrueck, Rhineland Prussia at the time.
He arrived in the South of Brazil in Oct 1846 with his parents Nicolao Marx and Magdalena Zahlen. Their other children at the time were Anna Maria (14 yars old), Mathias (12), Isabel (probably Elisabetha, 8) Anna Maria (4) and Apolina (1).
Does any one have any information about them or relatives?
