I am researching my family - founded by John Peter Marx who left Nassau (nr Frankfurt) in 1853 and sailed with Wife Katherine, son Jacob 3, daughter Christina 1, and settled in Lilydale Tasmania, later to move to New Zealand. John Peter is said to have been born in 1824. Does he appear in your family tree. We have no records prior to 1853.
