There were 2 Nicholas Marxes that were brothers. Your greaat-grandfather was Nicholas K. Marx who married Mary Lible. Their children were Leo, Henry, and Tillie. Your great-grandfather's brother, Nicholas L. Marx was known as "Nicky". He was born 12/25/1870 and died 12/18/1967. I don't know if he ever married. Do you?
Your great-grandfather's sister, Katherine "Katie" Marx married George Hermes. They were my grandparents. So I guess we are cousins of a sort!
Would you be willing to share your parents' names and brithdates/places and their childrens' names and birthdates/places so I can fill in my spreadsheet. I have a spreadsheet of the Marx descendants and then one that takes off for the Hermes descendants.
I don't know how much material you have on the Marx family but I am gathering quite a bit. Ted Winter sent some things as did Virginia Hermes and Shirley Ward. If you would like to exchange info, I'd like that too. I would like to see a copy of the records you have from the 1700's even though they aren't very clear and are in French (or whatever).
