My wife is related to the Lester P. MARVEL (1906-1952) and wife, Norma Hazel (nee LAFFERTY) (m1) COOK (m2) MARVEL (1906-1973) listed in postings #326 & 327 on this forum.
While "blindy" seeking information on the surname MARVEL in/near Terre Haute, Indiana, I obtained the following obituary.
Note: I have NO addit info re the following and have no clue if or how she may be connected to the above:
Obituary published "Terre Haute Tribune", Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana, Thursday, November 3, 1966, page 2:
MRS. MARY MARVEL
COALMONT, Ind. (Special) -
Mrs. Mary Marvel, 56, formerly
of Coalmont, died Monday night
at her residence at Whiting,
Ind. Surviving are one son,
Milo, Whiting; one daughter,
Mrs. Vicki Lynn, Whiting; the
mother, Mrs. Eva Christy, Coal-
mont; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia
Malone, Whiting; Mrs. Rowena
Mathers and Mrs. Bula Stark,
both of Hymera, and Mrs. Doxie
Daas, Henderson, Ky., and
four grandchildren. Services
will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at
the McClanahan Funeral Home,
with the Rev. Roy Bridwell of-
ficiating. Burial will be in
Koft Cemetery. Friends may
call after 3 p.m. Thursday.
