The genealogy of the line you suggest was pretty well worked
out by Brian L. Young, a long-time Martz historian:
John Sabastian Martz (~1740-1818) was born in Germany.
He married Mary Madelene Burkhart (born 1742) in the
German Reformed Church, Frederick, MD.Both are alleged
to be buried in Toll House Farm Cem'y, Tenth Legion,
Rockingham County, VA (I have been unable to identify
their graves).
John Martz (~1763-1820), born in Frederick, MD and is
buried in Toll House Cem'y.He married Catharine Nave
(1769-1846) on 20 May 1790 in Shenandoah County, VA.
Her grave is in Mountain Valley, Rockingham County, VA.
John J. Martz (1804-1883), born in Rockingham County, VA.
He married Mary D. Looker on 12 Aug 1832 in Rockingham
County, VA.Mary was also born in Rockingham County.
John M. Martz, born 1848 in Rockingham County, VA.Spouse
was Josephine Nieswander (1850-1913).Both are buried in
St. Paul Cem'y, Timberville, VA.
Charles Albert Martz (1875-1948) was born near New Castle,
VA and married Carrie Maude Minnick (1876-1933), who was
born in Hupp, VA, the daughter of Samuel and Katherine
Minnick. These Martz's are buried in LeRoy, KS.I have
two sons listed.George Allen Martz (born 11 Aug 1901 in
Hardin, Ray County, MO) and LeRoy Martz (born 21 Oct 1910
in LeRoy, Coffey County, KS).
I have a fairly extensive file on this family, which I will
be happy to share if you will provide me a snail-mail
address.I also am interested in information you have
which augments or differs from the above.
