HI!
You are talking about my greatgrandfather!! He was born in Oberiberg, Schwyz Canton, Switzerland. Married Catherina Schatt (shatt)(schott)?? and emigrated to the US in 1865. Moved to St. Louis for a short time, and then settled in Ramsey, Illinois. he was a blacksmith.
