I am Searching for a Martin Family in Harrison County Kentucky that raised the Stivers children after fathers death. Hers what I have:
James Stivers died 1882/1883 1st marriage to unknown
2 sons: John and Will Stivers
James Stivers 2nd marriage unknown
Children:
Jacob
Mary - when young spilled acid in her face.
unknown child
Ross Stivers 1863-1949 buried Barlow Cemetery
William Stivers 1872-1931
Joseph Hillman Stivers 1875-1953 mother died giving birth.
Joseph Hillman Stivers m Nancy Emmarine Nee Whalen b.12/13/1876-4/19/1965
Also known that Joseph father James died when he was 7 years old.
The Martin family was said to have raised the children, also gave Joseph a nickname Bunky due to the fact they had a son named Joseph.
