From the Tuscarawas County marriage application:
Randall E. Martin, born April 12, 1902 in Mineral City, son of Charles Martin and Ella Miller and Della Johnson, born Jan. 28, 1906 in Bradford County, Kentucky, daughter of William Johnson and Cora Nickleson, married Jan. 29, 1924. His occupation was steel worker and Della's was a housekeeper. So, they got married a day after Della turned 18. However, at the time of application it was probably before she was 18 so William and Cora both signed for her - rather they placed their mark "X". Evidently neither could read or write.
