Martindales of Tippah Co., Mississippi

I am researching the Martindale families that moved into Tippah Co., Mississippi in the late 1830's and lived near the town of Walnut. Prior to this they lived in Hardeman Co., mear Bolivar and before that Limestone Co., Alabama near the town of Veto and New Garden Cemetery. They came to Alabama from Tennessee, but I have not discovered exactly where in Tennessee. Lawrence Co. has been mentioned as a possibility. Indications are that they could have come to this area from Union Co., S. C. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
