I've only managed to trace my roots back to around 1765 in Scotland, to Duncan Martin who married Mary McCallum and had their first of 8 children at the Auchnasavil farm near Carradale, Argyle, Scotland.Unknown birthdate or deathdate for him.My Y-DNA seems to imply that we are of Celtic/Gaelic descent which goes back to around 300 bc when the Gauls (Celts) battled and defeated the Romans.
If there is an Italian connection to your husband, I'm not aware of it, but if he took the Y-DNA test, I could definitely tell you if we are related: Make sure he takes the 67 marker test, if you go through FTDNA, because anything less than that is not very useful. The test is around $240 U.S. for the 67 marker test.
