Hi Lisa,
There were 2 different lines of Martin in Wilkes NC. One was the John/Isaac line They were Dr's and Lawyers. Then there was the Benjamin, Zadock, Asa ( 3 brother's) that were said to have come from Maryland to Rowan. Benjamin and Zadock went to Wilkes and died there. Asa died in Rowan from what I am told. Not sure which lines your Martins are since I have not sorted them out. My martins were close by in Burke/Caldwell and we are still trying to sort ours out.
Some of ours wound up in Illinois and Missouri.
