The following obituary has been received here, taken from a western paper, concerning the passing away of William Martin.Mr. Martin was a nephew of the late Thomas Snyder of Millers Run, and was a brother-in-law of Benjamin M., and Joseph Yeager, deceased, of Lucasville.
William Martin, of Waldron, who passed away at his home there a week ago last Friday, was born August 25, 1853, in Scioto County, Ohio.He came to this state in 1878 and located in Stafford County.He lived there until the opening of the Cherokee strip in 1893? at which time he took up a homestead in northern Oklahoma, where he resided for seven years.He moved to Harper county in 1900 and had lived at Waldron from then until the time of his death.In 1872 he was married to Miss Catherine Yeager.To the couple were born ten children, four daughters and six sons, of whom only four sons are living as follows; Charles F. Martin of Anthony; Roy Martin, of Danville, and ?enry and George, of Waldron.His first wife Catherine Martin, died May 7, 1920.He was married again, January 11, ???2 to Mrs. Rilla Puffinbarger.He leaves to mourn their loss. Besides the four sons mentioned and his wife, one sister, six grandchildren one great grandchild, other relatives and a large number of friends.Mr. Martin was a strong believer in the Bible and the principles of Christianity.He was a good neighbor and faithful friend, whose going is regretted by all who knew him as well as by relatives and loved ones.
