Harry was born, 24 Feb 1878, son of Thomas and Catherine (Trumen) Martin.Thomas Martin was born on the Isle of Man and was the only member of his family to come to the US.He was a farmer near Champaign, IL, where he married Catherine Trumen; later was a farmer near Carthage, MO. In Nov 1911, he died in Baineville, MT. Children of Thomas & Catherine Martin: Lucy, died unmarried in Carthage; Horace, farmer near Sedan, KS; Maude (Mrs. S.P. Harry T. Martin was raised on a farm near Carthage, MO, and at about age 20 he located to Great Falls, MT, where he became a ranch hand for H.H. Nelson for six years. He then went to Miles City, MT, and for four years was foreman for the Hogg & Miller ranch on the Tongue River.He moved to Bainville, MT, to farm with his brother, Percy, until 1916 when he moved to Poplar, MT, and joined with C.J. Beisecker in a successful grain and sheep raising enterprise.
On 10 Jul 1917, Bainville, MT, Harry married Miss Margaret Mitchell, daughter of Sterling P. Mitchell, a Montana pioneer who came from Licking, MO, in 1878, as a boy of 17.Child of Harry and Margaret (Mitchell) Martin: Maxine, b. 26 May 1918.
