MARTIN/GREEN/CROW/WILLSON/WOODALL/CROSBY-MORGAN CO, AL
Seeking info on the following:
William Rufus Crow, b. ca 1851 and d. 1912 Decatur, Morgan Co, AL. Buried in City Cemetery in Decatur.
Thought to have married Sarah Elizabeth Green Martin, born 1862, d. 1948 in Decatur, Morgan County AL and buried in City Cemetery.
Possible son might be David Reid Crow, born 1888 in neighboring Lawrence Co, AL; died 1974 in Montgomery, AL.
Trying to prove some kind of connection between this family and a Hugh COSBY or CROSBY who married a Sarah Elizabeth Wilson. Possible children would be a son, Frank and a son, Marion I. Cosby/Crosby.
This Marion I. married a Mary Jane Woodall. Their possible daughter could be Loren Elizabeth Cosby/Crosby born in Jackson Co, AL. She married Clyde Albertson.
Looking for any connection to the above families and my WILSON/WILLSON family. Abraham/Abram Wilson was my great g-father. I first found him on the 1870 Morgan Co, AL census. Living next door to Abram was a Sarah E. Crosby (or could it have been Cosby?)and her infant son, James W., age 9 months. No adult male shown in the home.
Wondering if this Sarah and Abe could have been kin.
Abram married Sarah Jane Nesmith (kin to the Woodall and Vest families)in Lawrence Co, AL on Oct 4, 1870.
Abe's only child, my grandfather William, was born in Spring of 1874; Abram disappeared just weeks before his birth. His family never heard from him again. He could have been killed or could have just left to start life over again somewhere else. Need to discover who Abe's parents, siblings and other family might have been.
Below are some of the surnames that connect in some way to my family.
WILSON, WILLSON, NESMITH, WOODALL, VEST, HARDY, BRASHEAR, BREEDLOVE, CANADY, HARDY, KENNEDY, LOCK, LONG, MARTIN, MEANS, MOSS, ROBERTS, ROGERS, WRIGHT, WYNN, YARBROUGH
