Betty Jean Martin (1924-2006) in Idaho
Betty Jean Martin died on May 12, 2006 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise at the age of 82. Graveside memorial services will be on Thursday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel. Betty was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on May 21, 1923, the daughter of Ray and Dorothy (Baker) Jaggers. During her life Betty Jean worked at Mt. Home AFB, Anderson Ranch Dam and State Parks and Recreation, as well as being a mother and homemaker. She was a member of Boise Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and had a passion for fishing or anything that allowed her to be outdoors. Spending time with her daughter and her grandson had a lot to do with her happiness at the end of her life. Betty wishes to give thanks to Patty, Geraldine, Mike, Skip, Virginia, Lori, Janet, Gretchen, and Dr. Clifford and the staff at Room 523 of St. Alphonsus for being with her and caring for her in her final journey. Betty is survived by her daughter, Patty I. Chupp of Boise; her grandson, Tyler D. Chupp of San Diego, Calif.; her sisters, Fern Richardson, Virginia Jacobs, and Florence Davis all of Boise; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Martin; her parents; her brother, Rex Jaggers; and her brothers-in-law, Ellwyn Jacobs and Charles Richardson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Capital City Post 63, 3308 Chinden Blvd., Boise, Idaho 83714.
