Dean; In your posting you mentioned a George M. MARTIN married to Susannah WEST. I am searching for the parents of my 4G grandfather, Zachariah MARTIN, & his brother, Gabriel. These two men arrived in Louisiana in Jun. 1779. Baptism records in the Catholic Church of Mansura, LA, for six children of Gabriel MARTIN, say he, Gabriel, was a native of North Carolina and that his parents were George & Susannah MARTIN.

I have targeted, as possible parents, a George & Susannah MARTIN who were in Anson Co., NC from at least 1755 until 1765. Upon leaving Anson Co., NC, they seem to have moved to South Carolina.

Although it seems unlikely that there could be a connection with those you mention, could you tell me more about the George M. & Susannah MARTIN of King & Queen or Prince Edward County, VA? Bob
