Martens family NY 1800s

We are searching for information on the Martens family from Bremerhaven. Father Wessel Martens had a son Wessel August Gerhart Martens, my great-grandfather, who died in NY (1880-1974). We know two of his German uncles were sea captains because they took my grandfather on a trip to the West Indies when he was a boy.

Wessel Martens Sr. was in the Hussar Cavalry and belonged to the Queen Wilhelmina Regiment.

Wessel AG Martens married Ida Steiner and they had three daughters: Elizabeth, Ida and Wilhelmina (my mom's mother) and a son Carl who died in 1914 at the age of 3. He also had a sister Elizabeth who married a Speckman. The Speckmans had a son who became an engineer.

We have miscellaneous family info and a very large family tree mapped out, but the Martens connections have us stumped so far. Part of the problem is that some children were left in Germany with relatives while their parents worked in the USA so the trail is inconsistent.

Anyone with info OR who knows how I might get a full listing of Martens buried at Kensico and Woodlawn Cemeteries NY, please email or post! Thanks,
