I'm looking for any info on Fred (Friedrich?) Martens and his ancestors. The 1930 Census indicates that he was 60 years old, so dob was about 1870. His parents immigrated from Germany,maybe from Prussia. His father's name may also have been Fred. He married Wilhelmine Schocknecht (aka 'Minnie') around 1890. She was born in Berlin, and came to the US in the 1880s or early '90s. They divorced in the late 1930s, and Fred died shortly thereafter (about 1938-40). Family stories suggest that he was not a nice person, but provide no concrete info. Can anyone help?
