Have you checked: "GERMANS TO AMERICA - List of Passengers Arriving at U.S. Ports, 1850-1891 Ira A Glazier & P.William Filby, eds." Volumes are arranged chronologically by ship's date of arrival (with name index), port of departure, name of vessel and information on the family.
Found that my Marten families had arrived in N.Y. before they moved on to Ottawa Co., OH. Good luck. Wanda
