" 2 " Louis Martel Sr. and Philomene are cited in the 1901 census for Ste. Ambroise, along with son Charles Martel, then 24. Ambroise Martel, age 34,is cited in the 1901 census for Ste. Ambroise with wife Rosana (nee unk.) and children Alexander 8, Marie Louise 4, Emilie 2, and Ambroise 3/12. Joseph Martel is cited in the 1901 census for Ste. Ambroise age 37, with wife Nathalie (nee unk,) and son Joseph Martel. 10/12. Joseph Martel is cited in the 1911 census for Ste. Ambroise, along with wife Nathalie, son Joseph, and daughters Ailine 9, and Marie Alona 1. My g. grandfather Jean Charles Martel 1837-1901, was the younger brother of Louis Martel b. 1833. He was a witness to Louis and Philomene's marriage in 1858. My Jean C. Martel immigrated to the U.S. (Mass.) by 1860. fought with the 18 Mass. Vo. Inf. After the war he settled in Philadelphia, Pa.
