Hi Arnold, In another post Claude Chamberland says he has an Antoine Martin b Aug 12 1779 who married a Louise Lacoste dit Langeudoc ( sometimes this name spelled Langdot) on September 27, 1802. She died before 1826 and Antoine married Rosa Tetrau dit Ducharme July 28, 1828. Antoine and Louise had a son born March 16, 1813 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. I think this may possibly be our ancestors, even though it would put your Charles as 9 years younger than you thought. But ages on gravestones and in records are not always correct and these dates do fit. I am going to do some more investigating and perhaps you can look these names up in your sources as well. In the meantime do you have other Martins (Martel) in your database? I am stuck on a more recent couple who were probably from Highgate. I am looking for a Joseph Laroe who married a woman who appaers in Highgate town records as Lucy Martin, but who I suspect was also Lucy Martel in other records. They had at least one daughter, Delia Laroe who was born about 1870 and married a man named Napoleon Greenia. Do you know anything of this couple? Thanks. I will still be checking my computer until tomorrow night. I leave Tuesday AM.
