William Marsters I was born in England in 1821. His parents were John Marsters and Ann Marsters nee Armstrong of England. Some believe dat he came from Gloustershire because of the strong english accent he spoke which is still spoken to this day on Palmerston Island. William Marsters had 3 wives from Penhryn Island to whom he had many children, he had a child to a Penhryn woman before his 3 wives but she choose to stay on Penhryn with her child Ritia, he travelled to Manuae with 2 Penhryn women and lived there until a French man named Brander or Branden asked him to oversee for him on Palmerston Island. William had 2 children to Akakaingaro who both drowned, some say dat his child Elizabeth was buried on Manuae whose headstone still dea with the name Elizabeth Marsters on it but not sure what happened to the other child. William left Manuae with his 2 wives and went to stay on Palmerston island and on Palmerston Island he lived till the day he died. I am one of William Marsters I great great granddaughter and my father is Rev. Bill Marsters of Palmerston Island who sadly passed away in 2004, my grandfather is Edward (Ned) Marsters, my great grandfather is William Marsters II who was the son of William Marsters I.
