In following a dead end for me, I researched the Marsha name. Unfortunately, I do not know where that research is at this point. What I would suggest is to look in the NY 1860 Federal Census under "Jeremiah Marshall" and the 1865 NY State Census. I know that I saw a David, son of Jeremiah, in one those census. Beware of the different and creative spellings of surnames. Jeremiah was the father of Napoleon Marsha as well. I do remember finding a birth record for a child in Vermont whose father was David. You might check with Vermont Vital Records to see if they have a marriage record for David. If I find the research I did I will let you know.
