"Dr. Marsh was born September 12, 1920 in St. Paul, MN. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and served as an officer overseas during WWII. After the war, George enrolled in Northwestern School of Chiropractic. He purchased a home/practice in Slayton, MN in 1950. He was Slayton's only chiropractor from 1950-1980. George enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting and was an active member of Ducks Unlimited. He organized many outdoor sporting adventures for his friends and sons-in-law. He was an avid ice fisherman and parked his customized fish house on the ice of Lake Shetak for many enjoyable winters. George was a life member of the Slayton Chapter of the American Legion. He belonged to the Slayton Chamber of Commerce, the golf club, and the First Presbyterian Church. He was a philanthropist and donated real estate and funds to charitable organizations. Dr. Marsh retired in 1980, and moved with his wife to Evergreen, CO. The had subsequent residences in Durango, CO; Bella Vista, AR; and Mesa, AZ. During his retirement, Rose and George travelled extensively, both in the United States and out of country. Dr. George C. Marsh of Mesa, AZ passed away August 31, 2009 at the age of 88.

George was preceded in death by his wife Rose of nearly 60 years and his sister Shirley Kinderwater. He is survived by three daughters; Pam Schmidt, Centennial, CO; Kathy Bill, Prairie Village, KS; and Julie York, Arvada, CO; and six grandchildren; Tori Schmidt, Jami Schmidt, Will York, Kacy Bill, Becky Bill, and Cavan York."
