A surprising number of Rebel veterans of the Rev War settled in Canada sooner or later. Not really surprising that many of the 2nd generation supported their adopted country (aka the British side) in the War of 1812. We have Isaac SEDORE in the Westchester Co Militia. Not long ago I corresponded with a SEDORE descendant who was a bit taken aback when she found out the SEDORES were Rebels in the 1770s, but they served the Brits in 1812. We also know a few cases where former Rebels and families in Canada retained their American sympathies in 1812.
