The obit for my Great Aunt for anyone Interested.
GREENE - Ila H. Knapp, 94, of 508 N. Jackson St., Greene, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2009) at the Liebe Care Center in Greene.
A funeral Mass for Ila H. Knapp will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greene, with the Rev. Monsignor Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Greene.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009), with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 p.m. at Reid's Funeral Chapel 519 N First St., Greene.
Ila H.Marsh was born on Aug. 6, 1914, in Greene, Butler Co., a daughter of Bert and Grace (Dede) Marsh and died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at the Liebe Care Center in Greene.
After the death of her mother in 1919, she and her brother made their home with their grandparents John and Josephine Dede. She graduated from the Greene High School in 1932. She was married to Francis Knapp on May 6, 1937, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greene by Father Hogan.
They were the parents of three children, Barbara, James and Kenneth.
She was a life member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Lucy's Circle and the WSSC.
Ila is survived by her daughter Barbara (Jim) Graven of Greene; two sons, James (Bonnie) Knapp and Kenneth (Jayne) Knapp all of Greene; six grandchildren, Kelley (Henry) Perkins of Farmersville, Texas; Steve (Kim) Graven of Bourbonnais, Ill.; Don Graven of Carroll; Jill (Mark) Wust of Rockford; Tom (Kasia) Knapp of Ankeny, and Heather Knapp of Cedar Falls; 11 great-grandchildren, Laura and Elizabeth Graven, Michele and Josh Perkins, Nicole, Derik, Amber and Brice Wust, Ela Ann, Malina, and Paul Knapp.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis in 1988; two brothers, Lelon Marsh and Richard Marsh; her parents; a grandson, Dennis Graven and a dear Aunt Hazel McCray.
