Hello,
I don't know if I can assist very much.
There are Quaker Marshes connected to my family, somehow, around the late C17, early C16 from various locations in Kent (mainly Ashford, Folkestone and Sandwich.
At present I know virtually nothing more about them (thus my visit to this mailing list!)
I was asking myself the very same question about my own family - through maybe a Hammond/Penn marriage - again individuals closely connected with Kent.
Seeing the intricate and sometimes far-flung nature of Quaker connections this is something I would not rule out!
I think a delve into Quaker records are called for!
