Since we have revived this Board I thought it would be good to say that Shannon's grandmother was a cousin of my husband's father Lane. They shared the same grandfather Dr. Thomas Hutchins and the same great grandfather William Peter Marsalis who was one of the 5 sons of Peter Hutchins Marsalis and Mary Magdalene (Polly) Gordon Marsalis.

Our Peter Hutchins Marsalis began the "a" spelling. His dad John is listed in records under about 10 variant spellings from Marseilles to Merselius. John's dad Harmon goes on back 3 gens. to Pieter Marcelis/Marselis who arrived on the Beaver in 1661.
