This last is the lab.
If you are a male Marsalis/Marselis or any of a dozen or more variants and think you may be of the same line because of paper trail or even oral tradition please be tested. So far we have 3 males being tested who are of 3 different sons of Peter H. Marsalis who settled in Amite.
If you are a descendant-male or female - please join the free Project by posting your pedigree or earliest known ancestor. You do not have to have the surname nor be tested to post your pedigree and be part of the Project.
Who knows we may prove or disprove certain connections and make new "cousins". This project is world wide. Here is some more info:
The Marsalis-Marselis Surname DNA Project DNA Project is open to all Marsalis-Marselis Surname DNA Project families, of all spelling variations, and from all locations.
(If your surname is not included please contact the Project Administrator.)
This Marsalis-Marselis Surname DNA Project Family Project was started to:
1.
Help researchers from common or related families work together to find their shared heritage.
2.
Identify how the participant's families are connected, both genetically and through paper trails.
3.
Identify and confirm genetic Lineages of ancestral families.
4.
Ultimately catalog pedigrees and genetic connections of all of the known project families.
Participating in a Surname DNA Project provides:
*
The participant's genetic DNA, which is very close (and sometimes identical) to his earliest known ancestor.
*
The participant's "deep" ancestry (Haplogroup), which identifies the paternal ancestor's prehistoric origins.
(So far one direct descendant is confirmed as R1b1b2)
*
A sense of camaraderie, which is particularly strong for those who share a genetic ancestry
*
Stimulation to family research and renewed sharing of information
*
A wider sense of identity and relationship, as we begin to realize how much we are a World Family.
*
A chance to compare your genetic ancestry with those of your Surname and the spelling variations
*
Your genetic matches who do not share your common surname
*
The knowledge to understand our ancestors better - particularly where the records have been lost
Order a DNA test in the Marsalis-Marselis Surname DNA Project project from the world's foremost genetics lab for genealogy. Through the Marsalis/Marselis Project there will be a huge discount and an automatic link to the Project to have results posted and compared.
I have volunteered to start the Project and serve as co-administrator with world Families' Terry Barton
