I have managed to trace my Marsden line back to Calverley Leeds. My GGGGrandfather John Marsden was born in Calverley in 1799 His father was called Edward and his mother was called Sarah Hird.He was Baptised at St Wilfrids Church Calverley but I seem to have hit a brick wall here as I cannot find anymore Marsdens further back in Calverley.John had a son called William who was born in Calverley in 1826 the next time I have been able to trace them was on the 1881 census in Alverthorpe cum Thornes in Wakefield.John was still alive he was 82 by then.I am almost positive that Williams wife was called Nancy Tunnicliffe.William and Nancy are my GGGrandparents. If this is familiar to anybody I have more information about the Wakefield side of the family.
